It’s been a ridiculously long time since I’ve even touched paints. I have to say, it was quite refreshing. I haven’t done any painting since I broke out the watercolours on a small piece back in…ooh….2009?
What madness is this?
Anyway this piece was mostly based off of an image I had of St Andrews one night when I was out on the pier at the start of 1st semester this year. I’d been wanting to try and recreate that image on paper in some way but hadn’t, basically, gotten round to it/was lazy/forgot/ANYWAY…yes. Right.
Recently I’ve felt that I really want to be able to use the creative gifts God’s given me…more. Not better (though that may come) but just MORE. In particular to worship through praise and music, and to worship through art be it painting, drawing, taking photos or videos.
A friend, praying for me a short while ago, prayed that I would be more released into gifts of prophecy. Well, I think these tie in together. Taking hold of these gifts of creativity and gifts of prophecy are both grabbing hold of what God gives me and accepting them.
I’m very bad at receiving. At accepting.
But God gives and gives and gives.
Anyway, that’s a late night ramble.
I shouldn’t write this late at night…
