There are few things sadder than coming back on a  plane and realizing you have very little money for the summer

Then there are few things happier than coming home to find the stack ofRed Packets that your parents saved for you since Chinese New Year

My Last Post from Andrew Melville Hall

Melville, I will miss you.

You and your 5 (or 6) walled rooms

And your Neo-Brutalist architecture

And your sparseness

And your epic TV

And your food (judgement reserved)

And your lovely cleaners (or at least Shirley)

Melville I will miss your cat

You and the scary ducks

And the homicidal heron

And the good coffee and Youtube times

And the mental drunk people

And the zombie movie nights

And the scaring people after zombie movies

Bye bye Melville

Bye bye St. Andrews

See y’all in 4 months

It’s been amazing and I can’t work out where the time went.

I can’t believe First Year is over

Home (live recording of writing)

A sample of what happens when we write praise and record it at 2am.

I will stay in Your presence, God
I will rest in Your glory, Lord
So won’t You come, won’t You come

Enlarge my heart and enter in
Magnify Your power and pour it out on me

My heart will welcome you
To come and take control
Lord Won’t you take this life
and make it your home
by Clement Chen, Simeon Burke and Oliver Ip

A higher quality version soon to be (maybe) released by A Call to Stand - 24:7 Prayer: St Andrews :D

“From Scotland, God is calling a student prayer movement that will stand for His name. Women and Men that will intercede for our World. Men and Women who want to see universities and their students transformed. A people whose desire is to see all the World proclaiming and living out the truth that the Kingdom of God is at hand.
These are their voices.”

Check it out.

Iceland Chunders All Over the UK...Again → bbc.co.uk

So when all the tomfoolery with the snow stopping flights in winter, I figured that come summer nothing could delay multiple flights at the exact precise time I’m trying for home.

The hope is that the cloud of ash from this one won’t mess up flights for the.

That’s definitely my hope.

Seeing as my flight home is on Thursday night from Heathrow…

…it’s prayer time.

HONESTLY, IT’S LIKE EYJAFJALLAJÖKULL AND GRIMSVÖTN ARE HAVING A FARTING COMPETITION IN A LIFT. BAD VOLCANOES. BAD!

You know your friends love you when...

…they plan a night of birthday celebration for you, a birthday that actually occurs when you’re not in the same country

…they cook multiple trays of roast vegetables

…they buy a ham and roast an entire lamb leg

…they make you a ninja birthday cake

…they give you birthday cards with yellow ninjas (veiled racism overcome by friend love :D)

…they take you out to live jazz at the Byre

…you share Hoegaardens and Balvenie Signatures together

… they take out time, some of them with exams the next day, to celebrate YOU

How did I find such friends?

Every now and then, times arise wherein something like a humble videogame blog can surprise you with quite an insightful and comprehensive take on an issue of actual important. This is one of those times. → kotaku.com

“Make no mistake, America is a great country. Like any country, it has its share of problems, one of which being its pride. But it’s created so much: jazz, baseball, and, yes, even video games. American mass culture is world culture. There’s one thing that fascinates Americans more than anything, and that’s themselves.”

Note: I still think gaming’s important, regardless of what the post’s title suggests :)

Surprise

For the last 2 weeks, despite bearing witness to the purchase of a HUGE amount of potatoes and other small indicators, I have been informed that there is definitely, emphatically nothing out of the ordinary happening tonight.

On this, the night of the 19th.

However I have been told I wasn’t allowed to leave my room today after 5pm and have to be suited up by 8.

Soon all will be revealed…..

esthersunn:

but money sucking pharmaceutical companies don’t care cause it doesn’t need a patent, thus they lose out on making money.

Also see this article on NewScientist as a bit of confirmation - this did happen. In 2007.

Where’s our cure now, in 2011, you money-grabbing, self-centred, mass-murdering (and if you consider the number of people who could ahve been saved by this and other unprofitable cures in the last 4 years, that’s what you are) pharmaceutical-executive bastards?

Excuse my French, but you deserve it.
